PENGGUNAAN SERVER INTERNET GATEWAY SEBAGAI KEAMANAN JARINGAN PADA LABORATORIUM SMK TUNAS HARAPAN PALEMBANG BERBASIS MIKROTIK
Abstract
The rapid development of information and communication technology requires schools to have a reliable and secure internet network. SMK Tunas Harapan Palembang, as a vocational education institution, has a computer laboratory that is intensively used for teaching, practice, and internet-based learning. However, the main problem faced is the lack of security and centralized management of the internet network, which often results in bandwidth misuse, uncontrolled access, and vulnerability to network attacks. This community service activity aims to implement an Internet Gateway server using Mikrotik to increase network security and optimize bandwidth management in the laboratory. The method used consists of preparation, installation, training, mentoring, and evaluation. The implementation results show that the Internet Gateway server can manage access rights, filter inappropriate content, and control bandwidth allocation for each user. In addition, teachers and laboratory administrators have gained improved knowledge and skills in managing Mikrotik-based network security. This activity concludes that the use of Mikrotik Internet Gateway servers is effective in supporting secure and stable laboratory learning activities. Future improvements include developing a monitoring system integrated with reporting features for sustainable network management
